The teaching staff at our school form part of the prepared environment. They create the trusting environment which if absent would make learning very difficult. Their tasks include introducing the use of materials and organizing projects. They are therefore the intermediaries between the child and the teaching object. Through their empathy and knowledge concerning the levels of development of children, they are able to respond to the special needs of children and adolescents.
Here, it is important that the teachers see themselves as both the ones teaching and the ones learning. They too are people who do not know everything, who themselves ask questions about life, who are prepared to try something new, who make mistakes and who learn from these mistakes. All teachers have a state teaching certificate (1st and 2nd State Exam), which is equal to the qualification of teachers at state schools in terms of expertise, pedagogics and practical teaching. In addition, they have attained a Montessori Diploma that qualifies them for our special method of teaching. The teachers are supported by social pedagogues and other professionals.
