New Information!
Our
school enrollment procedure for the coming school year 2009
Dear Parents, dear pupils,
dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
We would like to inform you that due to the large demand the last
few years and in order to be able to apply for expansion making it
possible to take A-levels (graduating from high school, in German =
Abitur) at our school in the future, we will have one more primary
class this year. It is therefore possible to take more children this
year than in the previous years. The new additional class will also
be bilingual with an individual learning programme. The children
will experience bilingual schooling. Some of the special aspects at
our school include, for example, lessons with mixed age groups, the
close connection between school and out-of-school learning places,
being convinced that learning can be fun and that education can
become a lively challenge and our aim is to achieve the possibility
of children experiencing real living spaces and a feeling of
security beyond familiar bonds. Our school offers children and
parents a school in which the learning wishes of the children are
taken seriously. Parents and teachers work closely together to
ensure that the children experience the best educational conditions,
teaching and schooling. Being responsible, independent, open,
respectful, polite, willing to help and having moral courage are all
important attributes at our school.
Our school
day in the primary school starts at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m.
The daily school timetable starts with the morning circle with all
the children together, followed by individualized learning time,
controlled teaching time and breaks for all children. It is possible
to bring the children to school as from 7:45 a.m. In order to be
able to offer full day care we will be offering afternoon
supervision in the adjoining Children’s House (as from Summer 2009).
This will enable you to plan when you pick up your child each day.
We would be very happy to speak to you personally in detail
concerning school enrollment. Please make an appointment though the
school office with Mrs. Schwarz (School Governing Body of the
Montessori School Kassel): Tel. 0561-6027820.
The first day at school is Wednesday the 26.08.2009.
Congratulations!
Our tenth graders have successfully completed their project
presentation for the intermediate secondary school (Realschule) in
the week 19th to 23rd January 2009. We were
thrilled with the performance from our "big kids" who withstood all
official requirements and comparisons with other schools. The ten
examinees received 7x Examination Grade 1 and 3x Examination Grade 2
and presented the following themes chosen by themselves:
Mozambique - Alexander the Great - The Computer - Mars -
Mobbing at school - Albert Einstein – Women’s football – Parachute
jumping -
The Sword of the Samurai and Women in the Third Reich.
In May, the tenth graders are sitting written exams for Maths,
German and English.
